Civil Society: Visit to East Riding College
On Thursday 15 October, such was the enthusiasm of our members to visit that we were treated to not just one, but two tours of East Riding College with Tracey Murray, Campus Director.

We were pleased to hear that more than 400 students are currently studying at the Bridlington campus, and what an inspirational place it is! We were guided through a bustling hive of departments, each with its own specialism, and were in awe of the facilities available to students. These included a mechatronics room, a vehicle workshop, bricklaying areas, an art and design studio, and joinery workshops.
There were also dedicated studios and salons for Hair and Beauty students. You could even book a massage, have your nails done, or enjoy a new haircut! We also saw students gaining practical experience for careers in teaching, childcare, and healthcare.
Behind the college is a beautiful garden where vegetables are grown for use by the catering students.

In between the tours, members dined at the on-site restaurant, Archers, named after the historic archery butts that once stood on the college site. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals, which were prepared and served by East Riding College's talented Hospitality students. Well done to the team on their brilliant service!
The college also makes an impact far beyond Bridlington. Congratulations to student Ruby Goodens, winner of the Combi Guru Chef Competition 2026, and to Anthony Gascoigne, who won Outstanding Teacher of the Year at the Education North Awards 2026.

The Society thanks Tracey Murray, Campus Director, for her knowledge, enthusiasm, and time in showing us around the Bridlington campus. East Riding College is a place of which our town is extremely proud!
