Speaker Meeting Report- King Charles III England Coast Path
On the 13th May 2025, the Society received a fascinating talk by Edith Denton, Senior Countryside Access Manager, East Riding of Yorkshire Council. Edith's talk focused on the King Charles III England Coast Path.

As the Senior Countryside Officer for the ERYC. Edith is responsible for the 91 mile East Yorkshire Coast section of the National Trail Coast Path. This will eventually follow the coastline of England covering 2795 miles. With a PowerPoint presentation she told us in detail that the trail was designated and funded by the government.

The trail will eventually follow the entire coastline of England becoming the longest managed coast path in the world, connecting with the Wales Coast Path and the Scottish Open access. The trails are signified by an acorn. It is interesting to know that The National Trail has a fantastic website offering free advertising for a business.

We had huge support for this talk and the audience were held spellbound throughout with busy Q&A. Thanks were given by a member of the committee followed by refreshments. This was our last talk of the season, beginning again in September 2025. Our Civil meetings will continue throughout, and membership will be updated on issues discussed at monthly meetings- we hope to see you there!
